If you can't transfer to another college what good is it doing you to take those classes?
For me choosing a college went something like this. College recruiters came to my school and listed all the great things about themselves. I had narrowed my options to 2 very different colleges UNH and BJU. I picked UNH and then was told that my parents would not help pay for it if I went to a secular school. So I then picked BJU. I was given the impression that BJU was just as good as UNH and as a added bonus was a Christian institution. I majored in International Business with a minor in Chinese. I loved my classes and was taught by some amazing men and women. My senior year came around and for family reasons I transfered. When I looked at colleges in my area I was told the same thing by all them - UNH, Saint Anselms, Hesser College, Keene State University, Plymouth State University that none of my credits would transfer because of how Bob Jones was accredited. That means 3 years or college down the drain and all that money we had spent was wasted.
I wish that the Bob Jones Administration had been more up front with how they presented themselves regarding accreditation.

1 comment postedChris thanks for sharing your thoughts. I think a lot of us never thought about accreditation or what it meant exactly. We were told everything would be just fine and then suddenly reality hits us. It is tough when just about every viable school in your area refuses to acknowledge any work you did at BJU. People need to know about this reality.
