On June 11, 2011 the USDE met to report on the status of TRACS as an institution. Their report can be found here. Please feel free to read the entire document. There is a lot of interesting details that you can find there. There is one section I'm going to focus on because it pertains directly this website and highlights some very salient points that I've been making here for a long time. Point number 7 reads.

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools has just released the Actions Taken by the Board of Trustees as of June 21, 2012. This document catalogs all of the actions that board has done including granting accreditation, revoking accreditation, and the key one for BJU, granting initial candidacy status. And Bob Jones University is not mentioned anywhere in this document. 

Elizabeth Esther on her blog had a wonderful post entitled, BJU: a System of Learned Helplessness. This is a great post that you should read in full. It ties into something I've shared here and that is the notion of a Day of Reckoning. In my post I talk about the day when finally you are outside of BJU's/churches/parents control and need to make decisions on your own.

In response to Kevin Bauder's article concerning faculty salaries, Bob Bixby brought up an interesting point of discussion that I'd like to explore deeper. First let me just say that his response to Bauder's piece is dead on and you should read the entire article.

After making an official announcement regarding BJU's decision to pursue regional accreditation there seems to be a bit of a comedy of errors happening in the administration building. First there was an infamous rant by Bob Jones III where, among other things, he insisted that regional accreditation will not change anything at BJU.

In Vol. 25 Num. 13 Published Friday January 27, 2012 you can read the following admission from Bob Jones University.

Monday Bob Jones University announced that they are "investigating" SACS accreditation. That has led me on an investigation on what it takes to be accredited. One document I've been looking through is the Principles of Accreditation. I found an interesting piece of information. One that confirms what I've been saying here all along. It has to do with transfer credits.

Today Bob Jones University announced that they will seek SACS Accreditation (a regional accreditor). First lets break down the announcement and from there talk about what all this means.

Today Bob Jones III addressed the faculty. Many things were said, but accreditation came up since Bob Jones University just renewed TRACS accreditation. An anonomous source gave me two quotes, the first is what Bob Jones III said about TRACS.
