Bob Jones III

This page has been demanded by the administration to be shut down. The protest has been condemned! One of the founding members of this page has been threatened and he was asked to leave this group as an admin.

"Dr" Bob Jones III, as you may know, does not have a terminal degree, but it also seems that he doesn't have any advanced degree outside of Bob Jones University. But that isn't quite the impression you get when you read his bio on bju.edu.

MPT over at Jesus Needs New PR wrote a post entitled What Many of America's Churches Have In Common with Penn State. Penn State, as you may know, has been rocked in scandal as of late. The charges boil down to abuse, but the scandal is that the abuse was covered up by key officials at Penn State.

Not long ago news broke that Chuck Phelps is back on the Board of Trustees at Bob Jones University. Since then a petition has started and signatures are coming in fast. Like this one:

Today Bob Jones III addressed the faculty. Many things were said, but accreditation came up since Bob Jones University just renewed TRACS accreditation. An anonomous source gave me two quotes, the first is what Bob Jones III said about TRACS.

From USDE standpoint, TRACS is as good as regional accreditation agencies

Inside Higher Ed is outlining an issue taking place in Alabama where certain college presidents were listed as 'Dr' even though they did not actually earn there terminal degree.

Huffington Post has an article entitled: Warning: Profit-Making Colleges Are After You. The article outlines many of the reasons why I don't like for-profit schools, but it also outlines how these schools may be pulling off a "scam" of sorts while leaving the tax payer to fit the bill. Typically a for-profit cost as much if not more than an education from a top tier school.

If reality makes you look bad just make up your own. Or at least that is what Bob Jones University did via their Financial Aid page on their website in 2002.
